![]() ![]() Make MESS send MIDI to the IAC bus you selected for the "Midi In" a couple of steps ago.The default properties will use QuickTime synth, channel 10 mapped to standard kit and the remaining channels mapped to piano 1, and a GS-compatible program map. Drag a "DLS Synth" from the Tools to the pipe, below the "Midi In" you added in the previous step.Set its MIDI Input to an IAC bus, and don't select "hijack". Drag a "Midi In" from the Tools to the pipe and select it to show its properties at the bottom of the window. You'll get a window with a list of "Tools" on the left, and an "unnamed pipe" with no entries on the right. If you can't, check Audio MIDI setup again, if you can, close Audio MIDI Setup. Run mess -listmidi and make sure you can see the IAC bus(ses). If there isn't, click the + below the list to add one. Make sure there's at least one IAC bus in the Ports list in the lower left. ![]() Double-click the IAC driver to show its properties. If it isn't open, choose Show MIDI Window from the Windows menu. Open Audio MIDI Setup (from /Applications/Utilities).Be aware I'm still on 10.6 so some things may have changed on newer versions. If not, let us know and perhaps a member who uses MainStage will post.To answer a question that seems to have disappeared, you can route MIDI to the Quicktime synth on OSX easily enough. Hopefully you can get MainStage to send such a Song Select message. An F3 10 message is complete as is, and will select Song 17 or Pattern 17, depending on which mode the XF is in. Song Select is a MIDI System Common message, not a file. What would be a good thread to continue this conversation in?Īgain thank you so much for your valuable help to all of us here in the Forum., sincerely Eric On a whim I tried sending F3 10 to change the song however I assume I may need some code before and after that to complete this midi message. I have experience with programming however I have never sent a midi file before. I am using mainstage and I can send a midi file. In place of the Voices, you could set up Performances having just a single Part, the one Voice you would otherwise play in Voice mode. However, this approach is probably more complicated than you might want to deal with.Īn alternative to switching from Voices to Performances could be to keep the MOXF in Performance mode. The XF could send such a message via a sequence. The message to select Performance mode would therefore be… To create a Mode change message, see page 121, (3-6-3-1) NATIVE PARAMETER CHANGE, MODE CHANGE, for the general form of the message, and page 125, MIDI PARAMETER CHANGE TABLE (MODE CHANGE), for the address and data bytes. See page 123 of the MOXF Data List ( ), beneath the Bank Select table. Switching modes requires sending a MIDI SysEx Parameter Change message. I seem to have problems with changing from mode to mode on the MOXF8 with Master Mode on my XF7… I reckon this is possible? Say I´m playing a voice on my MOXF8 on my first song, but on the next song I´ve made a performance. When I´ve changed manually to voice mode on my MOXF I can change from program changes on my XF7. Now I can´t change between voices and performances on the MOXF with MSB LSB and program change on Master mode on the XF7.
